Once upon a time, in a beautiful neighborhood with many small yards, there lived a kitten named Luna, somewhere in the center of the city. Luna, when as a baby, had an adventure that changed her life. An accident took away one of her little eyes, but she never stopped looking at the world with love and curiosity.
Luna was a very thoughtful and playful cat! The whole neighborhood loved and cared for her. Every morning, she used to meow to Olia, her sister, whom she would wake up to play their games. And, of course, they didn't waste any time! They would climb the tallest trees in the neighborhood, climb the tiles and run across the roofs.
Then it was time for Tiger, arguably the biggest cat in the neighborhood! Tiger was a little older and sometimes wanted his privacy, which with Luna and Olia around, just couldn't happen! They would provoke him to play tag with them.

One spring afternoon, when the group was out exploring in the nearby square, something unexpected happened. A strange sound came from the well nearby, but they could not figure out what it was. As they got closer, they realized it was a desperate mewing.
"I think a kitten has fallen down the well," cried Tiger.
"Yes, but I don't see anything. It's pitch black down there." Olia added.
Luna cautiously jumped up into the well and began to peer into it inquiringly. She rolled her single little eye and struggled to see what was going on down there... After making two or three laps around the edge of the well, she stopped, stretched her tail, lowered herself onto her two front legs and stood still. After a while she cried out:
"I see it! I see the kitten! It's caught on a small branch at the bottom of the well."
Tiger and Olia looked at Luna in amazement. "How did you manage to spot it in the dark?"
She smiled and explained: "Ever since I was little, I learned to see with one eye. I've practiced it so much that now I can see better than all the cats in the neighborhood! But let's not waste time, we must help our little friend. He must be very frightened!"
"Okay, but how are we going to help him? The well is deep." Olia asked.
Luna wondered around some more, scanned the surrounding square, and then, her eye lit up. She had an idea!
"See that basket over there? We'll use it to save the kitten," Luna announced, pointing to a small basket at the edge of the square.
With a single leap, Tiger reached the basket. He caught it with his teeth and brought it close to Luna.
"But we also need a rope to tie it up and lower it into the well," Luna said.
"I have the solution for you!" replied Olia, who was heading for a tree a few feet away from the well. Within seconds she had climbed onto a wooden swing hanging from the tree. With her sharp teeth she managed to cut the rope and was now proudly returning to Luna and Tiger.
"Looks like we have everything we need!" said Luna, who had already begun tying the rope around the basket.

Once the basket was ready, Tiger and Olia took hold of the rope and slowly began to lower it into the well. Luna guided them with precision. Her ears were pricked up and her one eye was focusing on the darkness.
"Bring it down slowly... Yes, a little more! More to the right... now hold it!", Luna was saying anxiously and anxiously.
Thanks to her guidance, the basket arrived exactly where the kitten was. And then they heard it meow again.
"It's very scared," Olia observed.
"Don't be afraid, little one!" cried Luna, and added, "You're safe! Jump in the basket!"
The kitten hesitated for a moment, but trusted the three cats who were trying to help him. With a little hop he was inside the basket and immediately curled up.
"Now we pull!" said Tiger in a thunderous voice.
The cats, with concerted movements, pulled the rope carefully until the basket emerged from the dark and landed gently on the ground. The little kitten, having poked his head out timidly, looked gratefully at his heroes! He jumped out and started jumping with joy, overcoming all his fear!
Luna, Olia and Tiger, seeing the kitten running wildly around them, burst out laughing.
"It's time to return you to your mommy, little one" said Tiger at one point.
"She'll be very worried" added Olia.
The kitten, wanting to express her love, fell into Luna's arms and licked her cheek. He then led his new friends into the house. Waiting there, full of worry, was his mum, who, as soon as she saw him, ran over and hugged him tightly.
"But where have you been? You scared me!" His mother exclaimed with relief.
The three friends explained to her exactly what had happened! She didn't know what to say to them; how to thank them. "Without you, I would have lost my little boy! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!" said the mother emotionally.
"Without Luna's single, strong eye, we wouldn't have made it! Her own eye proved to be more powerful than all four of ours combined!" cried Olia.
"Luna, Olia, Tiger... you're the best friends anyone could have!" the mother replied.
Luna playfully winked her eye at the little kitten and said, while petting him, "Friendship means helping each other, right little one?"

And so, the three friends, happy that their group had grown, and another member had joined them, went on their way home. As they walked side by side, their tails wagged rhythmically, full of excitement for all this experience. Their adventure was over, but they knew that every day brings new stories, new games and new moments worth sharing. And these are the ones that bring them together and make them a strong team!
